16th September at the Cambridge Business and Professional Club (CBPC), we had the privilege of hearing Carl Lamb share his experience in the 2024 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

Sailing aboard the IMOCA 60 Awen Carl Lamb spoke about teamwork, resilience, and respect—reminders that resonate far beyond sailing. He also highlighted that just as important as tools and strategies can save lives at sea, the right tools and practices in business can help teams successfully “finish the race” and achieve their goals.

Based in Norwich, Carl Lamb is Executive Director at The Smith & Pinching Group Ltd with 37 years of experience in financial services. A Chartered Financial Planner, Carl founded Almary Green Investments in 2001, which was later acquired by Smith & Pinching in 2019. Known for his strong principles and hands-on leadership, Carl brings business acumen, resilience, and a passion for performance—on land and at sea. In 2024, he competed in the legendary Sydney Hobart Yacht Race aboard the IMOCA 60 Awen.
