On Friday, 7th March 2025, the Cambridge Business and Professional Club (CBPC) hosted an exclusive networking lunch at the iconic Queens College, Cambridge. The event was a resounding success, bringing together professionals, investors, and founders for an afternoon of insightful discussions, networking, and fine dining.
The day’s highlight was an inspiring talk by Martin Rigby, a seasoned venture capitalist with over 30 years of experience in the industry. His talk, “Can Venture Investors Pick Winners?”, explored the unpredictable nature of venture investing, emphasizing the challenges even experienced investors face when trying to identify winning investments consistently. Drawing insights from the Cambridge Venture Index (CVI), Martin highlighted how different investment cycles can yield vastly varying returns.
The event also provided an opportunity for informal networking at The Eagle pub, where attendees continued to share ideas and build valuable connections.
