We were deeply honoured to welcome Flight Lieutenant Colin Bell DFC to the Club for what was truly a memorable and moving event.

His talk was one of the most remarkable we have had the privilege to hear, full of courage, humility, humour, and extraordinary first-hand memories from a life shaped by service, bravery, and history.

Colin spoke about his experiences as a Mosquito pilot during the Second World War, including his time with 608 Squadron and his role as a Pathfinder on dangerous night operations. His reflections gave members and guests a rare and powerful insight into the realities faced by those who served, and the remarkable strength and resilience of that generation.

The room was captivated throughout. It was a real privilege to hear from someone whose story is not only deeply personal but also part of our shared national history.

Events like this remind us how special it is to bring people together at the Club — to listen, reflect, share conversation, and learn from truly exceptional individuals. We feel incredibly fortunate to have welcomed Colin Bell and to have heard his extraordinary story first-hand.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special.
